MAORI TROPHY GAMES PRODUCE GOOD TENNIS
The senior and junior Maori tennis matches played at Poroporo during the week-end produced Some outstandings games especially in the junior section when the strong Whakatane team just scraped home against the newly formed Waimana Club by 11 matches to six. Every game was hard fought With Waimana surprising and delighting their supporters in their strong bid for the Wahahuia and Wilson trophies. Although the senior game for the Wilson Cup resulted in an easy win for Whakatane over -Tuhoe by 12 matches to one there were several good games. Detailed ’ results, Whakatane names first:—
