Waimana Wins, Y.F.C. Debate
An interesting Young Farmers’ Club debate judged by Mr L. Buddie, Whakatane, between Wainui and Waimana was won by the latter by 260 points to 221 at Wainui on Monday night. The subject “that industry should be removed from the environment of the towns” brought forth some spirited arguments but Waimana taking the negative, appeared to be the more convihcing.
The chairman was Mr M. Burke, Wainui, and the teams: — Waimana: J. Cranswick, J. White, L. Bell.,Wainui: H. White, D.;Herdrrfan, C. Burke.
