Five % Increase In Prices Of Pickled Pelts At Sale
The New Zealand Meat Producers Board advises that the second sale for the season of pickled sheep and' lamb, pelts under the Pelt Regulations ; was held in Wellington before a representative bench of buyers. Offerings totalled 124 lets . comprising 12,528 dozen shep and 189,949 dozen lamb pelts. Prices for all pelts showed an increase of approximately 5 per cent on those of the first sale. Prices:—
Auckland: Sheep 126 per dozen, lambs 78s 6d to 87 6d per dozen. Hawke’s Bay-East Coast: Sheep 130 s to 135 s per dozen, lambs 73s to 8s per dozen. Wellington-West Coast: Sheep 131 s 6d to 136 s per dozen, lambs 76s to 88s 6d per dozen.
