Three Lights For Edgecumbe Bridge
A decision to approach the Works Department to make provision for three lights, one at each end and in the centre on the new traffic and pedestrian bridge at Edgecumbe was reached by the monthly meeting of the Whakatane County Council. This followed a discussion when various councillors expressed fears that the lights may become targets of vandals. 7 If such was the case they would not last long. Cr W. Huhter said he thought the lights should be erected high.
