Eastern Bay Of Plenty Federation Of W.l.’s Meets At Whakatane

An executive meeting of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Federation of Women’s Institutes was presided over by Mrs McCallion. Reports \were received from convenors of the arrangements which have been made to raise funds for the New Zealand Headquarter’s Building Fund. It was decided that proceeds from the trading stall to be held at the annual council meeting, be donated to this fund.

The annual Bay of Plenty Council meeting is to be held in the Parish Hall, Whakatane, on April 20, nominations for the positions of president and executive to be received by the federation secretary by March 18. Mrs McNaughton, Tauranga, is to be invited to be the guest speaker at the meeting. Mfs Grey read an itinerary submitted by the Government Tourist Bureau for the proposed trip in April. Commencing at Whakatane the tour proceeds to Waikaremoana, Napier, Wairakei, Chateau and Waitomo.
