WEDDING BELLS

HENDERSON—DEMPSTERRIVETT

A wedding of great local interest was held in the Methodist Church on Wednesday, when Nellie, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Demp-ster-Rivett, of Hillcrest, Whakatane, was married to Lindsay Morse, youngest son of Mr and Mrs W. S. Henderson, Whakatane, by the Rev W. C. Jenkin. The bride wore a beautiful white faconne velvet gown, the skirt being draped in front, and the fullness at the back falling into a long train. Her white tulle wa§ held in place with a tatted coronet trimmed with pearls. She carried a bouquet of exquisite begonias. Attending the bride were Misses Phyllis Rivett, Ngaire Doherty and Pat Henderson. The chief bridesmaid, sister of the bride, wore a Victorian frock of lemon georgette, with feather headdress and mittens to match, and carried a posy of begonias. The other two maids were attired in similar frocks of lavender and pale green respectively, and carried posies of begonias. The best man.was Mr Bill Rutherford, and the groomsmen were Messrs Ralph Goodall and Gordon Dines. The large number of guests was welcomed by Mrs Rivett, who wore a deep cornflower-blue ensemble, with black accessories, and Mrs Henderson in a pearl-grey frock, with green accessories. For travelling, the bride chose a college blue ensemble with wine accessories. The organist was Mrs A. Stewart and the toastmaster Mr Lloyd George.
