Dissatisfaction With Unsealed Roads
With most travellers dissatisfied with the present state of the unsealed portions ,of State highways between Whaka'tane and Rotorua and Whakatane and Tauranga reports from other parts of the Bay of Plenty indicate that there is general dissatisfaction with unsealed main. roads everywhere. The Tau-ranga-Waihi State highway has been' described as “disgraceful” and the “worst in New Zealand” and a move is now being made to have it sealed.
A recent meeting urged that no deviation work be done until the present formation is sealed and completed within two years.
