Dry Spell Affects Bridges And Roads

The present dry weather now being experienced throughout the Bay of Plenty is playing havoc with road surfaces and bridge planking in the Whakatane County. While most roads are in a reasonable state and still able to be used some are being torn about and county staff have been kept busy in the past few weeks with . increased maintenance works.

Planking on bridges have shown the affect of the hot dry weather, curling and warping and then breaking. These repairs are being carried out/ continually.
