Large Bullocks And Many Pigs Yarded At Te Puke Stock Sale
Pigs were yarded in large numbers though there were fewer heavy haconers, at the fortnightly, stock sale of the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. at Te Puke last week. Prices remained very firm for baconers and a good clearance was effected in all classes, with prices for buttermilk and store pigs showing the usual seasonal reduction.
A yarding of bullocks from the East Coast, came forward in splendid order. They were big cattle, the
like of which is seldom seen these days. All the biggest bullocks were disposed of under keen competition, but the smaller animals in the line did not reach vendor’s reserves.
