Keen Competition For Pigs

Competition for baconers was keen at the fortnightly pig sale at Opotiki of Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd., when there was a good yarding of both bacon and store pigs. Although prices were slightly easier than previous quotations store pigs were still in keen demand. Realisations were:-/ Prime heavy baconers, £6 14s to £6 15s; heavy baconers, £6 11s to £6 13s; medium baconers, £5 15s to £6 Is; light baconers, sgns to £5 18s; medium porkers, £4 4s to £5; buttermilk pigs, £3 18s to £4 3s; slips* according to size, £1 17s to £2 17s.
