Slight Easing In Paddock Cattle At Opotiki Stock Sale
Heavy boners and paddock cattle showed a slight easing, probably because of the dry spell, but other cattle maintained full schedule rates i at the fortnightly Opotiki stock sale of Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. There was a good yarding of most types of cattle while prime heavy , Jersey cows, suitable for butchers, maintained previous quotations. Realisations were:— Prime heavy Jersey cows, to £ll 15s; heavy Jersey cows, £8 t; £9 ss;. heavy boners, £6 7s 6d to £6 19s; medium boners, £5 to £5 18s; light boners, £4 to £4, 15s; store conditioned empty P.A. cows, £8 18s; small Jersey heifers r.w.b., £6 7s 6d to £7 17s; potter bulls according to weight, £7 to £9; yearling and small 2-year-old potter bulls, £3 to £5.
