Old Chair Yields Possible Treasure

When Mrs Hiki, of Ruatoki, bought a second-hand easy chair, she did not realise that she had bought with it an antique brass paper knife which she thinks might be of value to the original owner. The knife was, discovered when it became necessary to repair the chair’s upholstery, having apparently fallen down behind the seat. Mrs Hiki got her chair from a used furniture mart, so she has no way of tracing the original owner, but if the knife has any substantial cash or sentimental value she would like to return it. The, haft bears the arms of the English town of Colchester, and a very worn inscription on the back bears the date 1413 and reads “The arms were granted by King Henry V as a token of the discovery- of the True Cross by the daughter of a British Chieftain.”
