Galatea Garden Party Helps Show

A very pleasant afternoon was enjoyed by many on Saturday at Mrs F. Woller’s residence at Galatea when a garden party was held to raise funds in aid of the local A. and P. Show to be held on January 28. Although not as hot as it had been, the weather was very warm and the summery dresses and hats were quite in keeping with the occasion and the weather.

Cake, sewing and produce stalls did a brisk trade and were soon sold out, whilst the soft drinks and ginger beer on sale helped quench the thirst raised by various exertions. Several games were inaugu-, rated for those sufficiently energetic, clock golf proving the most popular. ■ The afternoon’s efforts resulted in over £3O and it is hoped that the same good support will be given to the forthcoming A. and P. Show.
