“Punch” Comes Up To Date
For the first time in 100 years the cover of the magazine “Punch” has b£en changed. The design of Punch and the dog Toby, touched up with pillar-box red, spreads all over the page, ousting advertisements worth £IO,OOO a year. Inside changes include: Heading types like those of the “New Yorker.” Authors’ names on articles and poems (formerly anonymous or with initials only). . “Punch” has a world circulation of 170,000, with an estimated, average of 15 readers a copy.
