Lived Part Of His Life Twice
On the way from Scotland to New Zealand by air, Major John MacKenzie, who visited Whakatane from Tauranga last week, had the queer experience of living the same week-end jwice. He got involved in the international date line in the air around Canton Island. They took off from the Island on a Saturday afternoon, and were hardly in the air when it became Monday morning. Since that saved all Sunday’s meals, it pleased the Scot, but the plane ran into an electrical storm, and was forced to turn back. Running back to the Island on Monday, she arrived there the previous Saturday night. All vei-y puzzling to the travelling Scot, who found himself quite bemused —without the aid of Scotch.
