Monthly Meeting Of Gardening Circle Of Waimana W.I.

The monthly meeting of the Waimana W.I. Gardening Circle was held at the home of Mrs R. White, Waimana, conditions were ideal, Mrs King presided over a good attendance of members.

Mrs Hodgson was welcomed as a new member.

A general discussion took place on the growing of various types of irises and tulips. An interesting leading was given by Mrs White on the treatment of flowers, arranging and combining colours. Mrs R. Looney gave a demonstration, showing how to arrange a pot' of flowers., to be carried by a bridesmaid.

A competition arranged by Mrs White, was won by Mrs Looney. The day’s competitions were judged by Mrs Stevenson. Results;— Best flower, Mrs M. King 1, Mrs Hodgson 2, Mrs J. Mitchell 3. Best vegetable, Mrs King 1, Mrs J. Mitchell 2, Mrs G. Mitchell 3. Decorative jam dish, Mrs White 1, Mrs S. Eagle 2, Mrs King 3.
