Popular Taneatua Girl Farewelled
A very jolly evening was spent at the home of Mr and Mrs Goodhew when the young friends of Miss Leith Shaw gave her a real “surprise” party before her departure to live at Napier. With fun and games the hours passed all too quickly. A super supper was served, after which presentations were made to the guest of honour by the firm of James Goodhew Ltd. and also by the staff. The evening concluded with musical honours for Miss Shaw.
Farewell Dance
A very successful dance organised by Miss Leith Shaw’s friends was held in the Taneatua Hall to wish her happiness in her new home at Napier and to make her a presentation as a token of esteem. Voluntary music was supplied by various friends and a very happy time was spent. Mr Roger Hill made the presentation on behalf of those present and Miss Shaw suitably replied.
The Monte Carlo dance was won by Mr and Mrs Hill and the Monte Carlo by Mr B. Chalmers and Miss J. Doolan.
