Many Ex-Members Attend Reunion Of Whakatane Band
Ex-members from all over New Zealand attended the first annual re-union of the Whakatane Citizens’ Band at Whakatane on Saturday night. Taking the form of a dinner, and sing song many old acquaintances were renewed and past performances of the band recalled. During the dinner several toasts were honoured and included the following:— The King, proposed by Mr A. J. Canning; The Band and ex-mem-bers, proposed by the Mayor, Mr B. S. Barry, reply by Mr W. Jarrett; Kindred Bandsmen, Mr Jarrett, O. Moore; Whakatane Borough Council, Mr F. Milne, Mr C. S. Armstrong (Deputy Mayor); Absent Bandsmen, Mr C. Ranby; The Ladies Mr F. C. Cutler, Mr A. Stewart.
