The Wainui Young Farmers’ rugby team continued to show improvement when at Opotiki last Saturday it met and defeated Opotiki Y.F.C. by six points to nil. The game was played in excellent spirit and a keen tussle resulted. There was no score in the first half although both sides attacked strong-

ly with Wainui having a territorial advantage. Shadbolt opened Wainui’s account when he kicked-'a penalty goal early in the second spell. Wainui were still holding' a territorial advantage and fullback, C. Kerikeri, missed a difficult penalty. In the last few minutes of the game Wainui scored. Following a ruck, Ruwhiu dribbled the ball over Opotiki’s line for Herdman to drop on it and make the final score 6-0. Referee: Mr L. Abbott, OpotikL
