Roads Widened The formation on both Seaview Road and James Street have been widened and dressed with crushed metal. Pedestrian Crossing A new pedestrian crossing has been provided on Goulstone Road to serve the high school. Crossing; Sign Posts All pedestrian crossings at Whakatane are now fitted with regulation black . and white stripped sign posts. Hillcrest Fire Supply A two inch fire hose connection has now been fitted to the Hillcrest' water supply main for the Whakatane Fire Brigade to carry out tests. New Power Lines
The new primary power lines to Hillcrest West have been completed, the electrical engineer, Mr F. Lysaght, reported. They are to be put into service as soon as the new sub-station is completed in the next few days.
