ROAD SERVICES TURNED DOWN ON OHOPE ROUTE

A recent sitting of the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority turned down a New Zealand Railway Road Services application for a license to carry passengers between Whakatane and Opotiki via Ohope Beach. The application was opposed by the Ohope Transport Company, which already operates a service over the Wainui road.

Ohope Transport was granted an extension of its license, permitting it to run services to the Mataerepo junction and to the Kutarere store.
