Gifts Presented At A Popular Waimana Evening

The gift evening held in the Waimana Hall for Miss Elsie Robinson and Mr D. Black, proved very popular, the guests receiving many useful articles. The evening was spent in dancing, King’s orchestra supplying the music and Mr A. Bell playing the supper extra. Mr N. Eagle acted as M.C.

The guests, on behalf of all present, were asked to accept the' many useful gifts. Mr Black replied thanking all their friends for a pleasant evening and the gifts. Mrs Boynton, on . behalf of the Basketball Club, stated how Miss Robinson had been their efficient secretary, being a great help to the club in the past. She presented the guest with a pretty tray. Mr Potter, on behalf of the Football Club, presented Mr Black with a cake dish. Mr Eagle then made a further presentation on behalf of the Waimana School Committee, to Miss Betty Wardlaw, who had filled a vacant position on the teaching staff of the Waimana School until a qualified teacher applied for the position.
