Council Supports New Bridge Site

The Whakatane County Council is to support the proposal of the Whakatane Borough Council that the site of the new traffic bridge be just below the Board Mills, it was decided at yesterday’s County Council meeting. Appreciation was expressed by councillors of the Borough Council’s offer to help the County Council pay half the maintenance cost of the present structure, should it be retained.
