AWAKERI NARROWLY DEFEATS WHAKATANE In a close and exciting match, which resulted in games being nine all, Awakeri defeated Whakatane by 16 points of a total 576 in an inter-club badminton meeting on Tuesday night. Details (Awakeri names first) :

Whakatane have drawn Awakeri in the elimination round of the Rivett Cup contest and these teams willi meet, in St. John’s hall at 10 a.m. tomorrow, when a close contest is expected. St John’s team will play Otakiri in the same hall in the afternoon and the finals will be held in the winter show building in the evening.
