Town Tip Not Being Used Properly Says Health Inspector
“In spite of the notice erected putrescible matter has been dumped well away from the tip head, in fact quite near the roadway,” the health inspector, Mr A. R. Knights, reported to the monthly meeting of the Whakatane Borough Council this week.
Until the tip is fenced and put under control it will be practically impossible to keep the area free from nuisance and to prevent rat and fly breeding, the inspector pointed out. He thought that if the refuse tip • was operated properly the majority of business people would co-operate fully. Those who did not should be prosecuted immediately.
