UNITED STILL FAVOUR SATURDAY PLAY At its recent annual meeting the Whakatane United Cricket Club decided to still favour Saturday play. It was also agreed that the pitch angle be altered sightly, and the ‘ subscription rates be 'reduced to £1 Is and 10s 6d. The following officers were elected: Patron,. Mr B. S. Barry; president, Mr J. D. Rivett; vice-presi-i j.'> dents, Messrs W. Sullivan, W. C. Davies, C. S. Armstrong, W. Howat, P. Coutts and H. Dewar; hon. secretary, Mr W. J. McKenzie; management committee, Messrs D. Carling, L. R. Spring, P. Cameron, G. Howard, W. Crawford, N. E. Rigden, N. Carter; club captain, Mr N. E. Rigden; delegates to W.C.A., Messrs Spring and Cameron; women’s committee, Mesdames Rivett, Spring, Rigden, Cameron, Carter and Miss Moore; coach, Mr Spring.
