KNOCKOUT TOURNEY TO END SEASON The closing day of the 1949 basketball season is to be held at Whakatane on Saturday with a knockout tournament. Commencing early in the afternoon with a marching' competition it will be followed by the final of the Whakatane competition final between Paroa A and Paroa B. After this it is intended to hold field games and the knociront tournament is to commence at 2.45 p.m. Entries for this event close on Wednesday. Teams will play for a shield in the A gi'c.de and a v cup in the B grade.
