Tauranga Port Is To Be Developed

Organisations from all over the Bay of Plenty are to attend a conference at Rotorua on October 7 to discuss the activities- of the Tauranga -Harbour Board and projects for the improvement of the port. Local bodies, commercial and farming organisations will be represented and much of the discussion is expected to centre round the use of the port in relation to the new < forestry development at Preliminary plans so far reveal f that an extension of a railway line to Murupara, which is only 100. miles from the port, is probable.
