Survey Party For New Taneatua Line

A further step in the proposed Taneatua-Matawai rail link has been made in the arranging of a survey party who, it |is hoped, will , be able to commence surveying the \ possible route early next year. The party has been formed in Gisborne and the names are now being submitted to the Works Department for approval. ‘ In a previous visit to discuss the construction of the railway line between the two centres Departmental officers had pointed to the difficulty of securing surveyors for work of that type.
