WHAKATANE MAN TO PLAY WOULD CHAMPIONS The two present world champion table tennis players, V. Barna, Hungary, and R. Bergman, England, are to tour New Zealand this month and will visit the Bay of Plenty on Tuesday at Tauranga. Exhibition games will be given and matches will be played against the two top men players of. the Bay, F. Paton, Whakatane, and F. Brewer, Tauranga. Several players will be travelling from Whakatane to see the champions vin action. PATON ATTENDING N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS Along with other 1 players from Rotorua one Whakatane man, F. Paton, is representing the Bay of Plenty at the New Zealand Table Tennis Championships now being held at Napier Paton is regarded as one of the top players of the championships and is expected to provide the strongest opposition to C. Algie, Wellington, the present North and South Island champion. Paton returns to Whakatane on Sunday..
