Women's Institutes Present Concert At Taneatua
A concert given by members of the Waimana-Nukuhou and Taneatua Women’s Institutes was presented to an appreciative audience at Taneatua. Four plays, and a par ody filled the evening. Waimana players presented their festival plays “The Miser of Rogafjord” and “Five to Five Thirty” and also a most amusing parody on the Women’s Institute. Taneatua presented their Festival plays “Beginners Luck” and the “Frozen Heart.” The proceeds of the concert were divided between the Taneatua War Memorial Committee and the Plunket Committee. At the conclusion of the concert the Waimana players were thanked for their generosity in appearing for the benefit of those committees. Flowers were presented to the producers of. the plays and to Mrs Tebbutt, who received the award of best actress at the Festival. Mrs Ewert also received a bouquet as an appreciation of her help to the. players before the Festival.
