Primary Schools ' Rugby Tournament Commences Tomorrow
Teams attending the annual Bay of Plenty Primary Schools’ Rugby Tournament will arrive at Whaatane today and play will start tomorrow at Whakatane Field. There are six teams taking part representing Whakatane, Opotiki, Rangitaiki, Te Puke, Rotorua and Tauranga. The trophy played for in the tournament is the Tai Mitchell Shield, the winners holding it for one year. The same applies to the Laurence Boynton Shield, which is awarded to the runner-up team. Play will commence tomorrow and continue until Thursday, the teams finally leaving on Friday. On Wednesday a scenic drive has been arranged to Ohope for all players and on Thursday a visit to the' Whakatane Board Mills, a farewell tea and picture show. All players are to be billeted out.

The cable comes from the captain and manager of the All Blacks, Fred | Alien and Mr J. Parker. It reads'-- | “I wish you all the very best of Buck in your tournament. May you lallI all play gcod football, be good sportsmen and remember that pro- ; vfded you have a good game the result is not so very important. Hearty greetings from the All Blacks in South Africa."
