Thames High School Rugby XV To Play Whakatane D.H.S.
A fixture that has not been held before will take place on Monday when the Thames High School first rugby fifteen will play the Whakatane District High School first fifteen at Whakatane. The Thames team has played remarkably good football during the season, and in recognition of their efforts a tour embracing Te Awamutu, Waitomo, Rotorua and Whakatane has been arranged. At the first and last named places. they will meet the first fifteens from the local secondary schools, playing at Whakatane on Monday afternoon at 2.15 p.m. The Thames boys will be billeted in the homes of local pupils on Monday evening, and return . via Tauranga on Tuesday. The Thames boys come with an impressive record of victories over Sacred Heart College, Auckland, over Hamilton Technical College, and Tauranga College. The Whakatane team has played good football and recently won the Te Kani Memorial Shield from Te Puke District High School, so the match promises to be an interesting one. . The following boys vyill represent Whakatane District High School. R. Heta, N. Mita, B. White, M. Brown, J. Wano, G. Harawira, T. Hunt, I. Breward, A. Pryor, J. Prince, W. Kirk, D. Bridges, T. Lyon, S. Hunia.
