Private Boxes At Whakatane Post Office Extended
Workmen are at present installing a new nest of private boxes at the Whakatane Post Office. The installation of these boxes marks another stage in the progress of Whakatane. When the building was first erected, 24 boxes were in- ' stalled and they were considered to be sufficient to meet the requirements. Since then there have been seven additions at ‘ various stages and in each case the added number k were quickly brought into use. For some months now there has been a long waiting list and the present installation of 56 new boxes are nearly all let already. This will be the last extension possible in the present building as there is no more room in the box lobby for more boxes.
