“Bird Songs,” Verse Written By Member Of The Matata W.I.

The following verse, has been written by Mrs F. A. Reichardt, Matata, and was first read at the last meeting of the Matata Women’s Institute.

“Hear the bird song! in the morning, Twittering, whistling, bright and

gay, So much to sing for, night has gone Again we greet, “a glad new day.”

Hear the skylark, as he rises When the warm sun shines after

ram. Melody; so clear and precious, Biding sad folks, “hope ags& j

Hear the bellbird!. in the Liquid notes so clearly falling, Never did a church bell ringing . Sound as sweet, as green bird calling.

Hear the chorus! in the evening, As they fly from tree to tree, Seems just like a glad thanksgiving, Bird-song praises for life so free.
