He came, Tried And Departed
At least one driver of a heavy motor vehicle failed to secure his license recently. He intended applying for -a license to drive a heavygrade motor in Palmerston North recently and heralded his arrival at the transport office by driving his truck into a verandah post outside. Two traffic officers investigated the crash, which had shaken the building. They watched while the driver, endeavouring to get the clear, drove into the post a second time. At this stage the officers considered the test effectively completed and advised the driver to come back another day.
