Maori Support For Compulsory Training

The following resolution was passed by the Te Aroha Tribal Executive, representing 15 tribal committees, at a meeting held at Rotorua on Saturday. “This executive fully supports the principle of compulsory military training. It regrets that world conditions today necessitate compulsion in this matter, and while this executive still holds fast to belief in voluntary service as an expression of loyalty and service, it considers it the duty of all sections of the Maori race to_ be in full accord with the principle of compulsory military training.”
