Country Women To Be Shown Latest Wool Fashions

For the five hundred country women who will meet in Wellington next week for the annual conference of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, where the Bay of Plenty will be represented, one of the highlights will be a parade of the latest overseas fashions, to be presented by the New Zealand Wool Board, under the title of “Wool the Versatile.”

Twenty-four different outfits, all in wool, and all from world-famous designers are to be shown. They range from pyjamas and night dresses, through tennis shorts and kneehigh slacks for outdoor wear, to afternoon frocks and evening dresses. The object of the Wool Board is to show farmers’ wives and daughters just what is being done by ‘the world’s leading fashion artists with wool, of which New Zealand is the world’s third largest exporter.

The show, which will be produced by Miss Mary-Annette Burgess, the Wool Board’s promotion officer, will be seen by the delegates to the conference on the first night of their meetings.
