Whakatane Successes In Pig Competition

Several Whakatane entrants were successful in this year’s Tomoana Porker and Baconer competition. With an unbeaten 341 points Messrs Black Bros, won the Y.F.C. Baconer team championship and were also first in the Auckland Province Young Farmers’ Club Porker championship and Bay of Plenty Porkers. They receive a total of £45 in prize money. Third place in the Bay of Plenty Baconers was gained by J. Beard, who scored 323 points, only six behind the winner.
