Good Crowd At Awakeri Hall's Re-Opening Dance

On Saturday night the Awakeri Hall was filled to capacity for the first dance on the new floor. The new fluorescent lighting brightened up the hall considerably, and the large crowd appeared to enjoy their evening right from the outset. Several attractive novelties were held and considerable amusement was created by the release of some 50 balloons just before supper. During the supper interval, the M.C., Mr H. C. Carter,' as chairman of the Hall Committee, thanked the public for their support and also announced that commencing at the next committee dance on July 23 a novelty quiz would be instituted, and the four to be quizzed will be selected by a quiz monte carlo, the last two couples left taking part, or if they wish they may swap their chance. Attractive prizes are offered as well as a jackpot to be closed regularly. W.D.F.F. members are to be congratulated for an excellent supper which, 'in spite of the very large crowd, was more than adequate and much enjoyed.
