Additional Bus Services Between Whakatane-Waiohou
From-tomorrow a new passenger service between Waiohou and Whakatane is to be commenced by the Railway Road Services. This 'will be in addition to the present Friday service and will be run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The bus will leave Waiohou at 9.15 a.m. arriving at Whakatane at 10.30 a.m. It is timed to return at 2 p.m. and should be back at Waiohou by 3.15 p.m. The present Friday service leaves Waiohou at 5.30 p.m. to get to Whakatane. at 6.45. It returns after the pictures, completing the journey at about 11.45 p.m. The new Tuesday and Thursday services are planned for shoppers and will give a more frequent communication between Whakatane and Waibhou.
