Galatea District Nurse Farewelled
A farewell to Nurse Abercrombie, who for the past two and a half years has been District Nurse at Murupara was held in the Galatea Hall last week. There was a representative gathering of all settlers of the district.
In presenting the guest with a handsome leather suitcase Mrs J. Young referred to the valuable work of nurse Abercrombie during her stay at Galatea. In her two and a half years service she had become well known to the Galatea people. . In replying, Nurse • Abercrombie said she had grown to love the district, and would miss the associations there very much. She had always found the mothers very cooperative, and had rarely been called out without a good cause.
Mrs Creamer presented her with a bouquet of violets, tap and skipping dances were presented by Miss Betty Roberts.
