Fined £25 For Car Converting
After he had had a few drinks in the Te Telco Hotel on June 20 Gilbert Edwards (Mr C. A. Suckling) farmer, of Te Teko, went outside and hopped into a motor car, which he started up although he did not drive away. The result was that he in the Whakatane Police Court gn Wednesday on a charge of unlawful conversion, before Mr L. Brown and Mrs D. C. Petty, J’s.P. Edwards pleaded guilty and was fined £25, costs 10/-. A further charge of attempted conversion was Withdrawn by the police.
