Motor Cycle Champs Wanted At Whakatane

Application to hold the New Zealand and North Island Head' Hillclimb Championships at Whakatane this year has been made by th!e Bay Plenty Motor Cycle Club. This was decided at the annual meeting at Whakatane when it was also decided to apply for the New Zealand and North Island 500 c.c. Beach Races. The club is confident that these events will be granted to Whakatane and it is planned to make them record meetings. During the meeting it was revealed that a new electrical timing set purchased recently had been found useful among the club’s assets. Officers elected:—

Patron, -Mr H. G. Warren; president, Mr W. Whittaker; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs R. Whittle, K. Farquhar; secretary, Mr P. Winn; treasurer, Mr C. Goodwin; club captain, Mr B. Woods; vice-captain, Mr J. Flavell; committee, Messrs L. Critchley, F. Critchley, H. Hammpnd, W. Bigwood; auditor, Mr A.C.U. delegate, Mr Farquhar.
