Whakatane Brigade Lose To Opotiki In Fire Competitions

The Whakatane Volunteer Fire Brigade team which competed at Opotiki last week in the Eastern Bay of Plenty Fire Brigade competitions were defeated by a small margin of two points by the Opotiki Volunteer Fire Brigade. Competition was for the A. G. Allan Trophy, which now goes to Opotiki. Times:—

One man: Opotiki 72 1/5 seconds, Whakatane 72 2/5 secs: two man hose and standpipe, Whakatane 48secs and 40 l/ssecs, Opotiki 44 3/5 and 41 2/ssecs; three man disabled, Whakatane 53 4/ssecs, Opotiki 48 4/ssecs; four man hose and standpipe, Whakatane 44 4/ssecs, Opotiki 41 2/ssecs; four man motor event, Whakatane 53 l/ssecs, Opotiki 65 2/ssecs.
