Otakiri W.I. June Meeting

The June meeting of the Otakiri "Women’s Institute was held in the Otakiri Hall on June 1. Mrs Carr presided over a fair attendance. A report was read from the A. and P. meeting held recently in Whakatane. Two representatives from the Institute attended meeting at the Beacon Office recently to discuss Institute reports etc., and brought back quite good information concerning Institute publicity. A talk by Mrs Peck on her recent visit to Auckland attending the Arts and Crafts School, proved very interesting, and at times amusing. Competition winners were:— Vegetable: Mrs Armstrong 1, Mrs' Peck 2, Mrs Butler 3. Single flower: Mrs Peck 1, Mrs Hutton 2, Mrs Winters 3. Double Flower: Mrs Hutton 1, Mrs W. Murray 2, Mrs Fulford 3. Tumbler of spring flowers: Mrs Peck 1, Mrs O’Sullivan 2, Mrs Smith 3. Sponge lilies: Mrs Peck 1.

Best darned working sock: Mrs Peck 1, Mrs B'utler 2, Mrs Smith 3.
