Loyal Whakatane Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F.

A meeting of the Loyal. Whakatane Lodge M.U.1.0.0.F. was held recently, Bro Atkinson (Jnr) presiding over 60 odd members from Group 19, representing Opotiki, Rangitaiki, Taneatua and Whakatane, and one visiting member, Fin. Sec. Bro Parkinson, from Rotorua. P.G. Bro Atkinson (Snr) was elected secretary for the Group Indoor Bowls Club. Fin. See. Bro Jones announced that the Rivett Cup Singles Championship would be played at Taneatua on June 14.

Group Officer P.G. Bro Quayle proceeded with the installation of officers. Officers in the Whakatane Lodge who were elected and installed were: N.G. Bro Wiggins, V.G. Sis M. Quayle (Jnr), E. Sec. Bro Mac Queen. Lecture Master P.G. Bro Erskine. Bro Quayle at this stage presented the Rangitike N.G. with the Ritual Cup.

Past Grands Meet At a Past Grands’ meeting, held recently, P.G. Bro Quayle and P.G. Bro Knowles presented P.G. Bro Teesdale with a past President’s Jewel and P.G. Sis Teesdale with a P.G.’s Jewel. Several members spoke on the wonderful work these two members had done over the years in both the Lodge and P.G.’s Lodge. All wished them a happy 12 months holiday in England and a safe return.
