Three Men Injured In Motor Accident

Two men were injured when a small truck in which they were travelling near Taneatua from Ruatoki crashed into a parked car early Tuesday evening. They were Mr Stewart Tiopira, married, labourer of Ruatoki, and Mr Paki Dewes, also known as Pouwhare, single, farm hand of Ruatoki. Both men wer admitted to the Whakatane District Hospital for observation and treatment and their condition is now reported to be satisfactory.

A third occupant of the truck, Mr Ben Uataki, single, farmer of Ruatoki, also suffered slight injuries and received medical treatment. At the time of the accident the truck was travelling towards Taneatua and had just crossed a small bridge when it crashed into the car. It turned over a couple of times before coming to a stop. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.
