MRS KEHOE SAYS “THANK YOU ” TO WHAKATANE FOLK
Following is a letter received by the Mayor of Whakatane, Mr B. S. Barry, from Mrs J. Kehoe, now living at Nae Nae, Lower Hutt: “I am in receipt of your letter with cheque enclosed and would deem it a favour if you would please convey through your local newspaper my sincere and grateful thanks to one and all who may have contributed so generously and willingly to the fund launched on my behalf. There are so many words I could write and yet so few to adequately express my gratitude and' feelings towards the people of Whakatane. I shall never forget their overwhelming kindness to me and I shall always remember Whakatane and its folk with warm sincerity.” The cheque referred to was for the £215 collected through the Beacon’s list.
