Taneatua W.I.

There was a very small attendance at the May meeting of the i Taneatua W.I. owing to the very bad weather. Mrs Grey presented a report of the annual Council meeting held at Opotiki. It was decided to send, a food parcel and a parcel of fat each month to the newly-ac-quired link in England. Members were asked to bring a baking powder tin of fat each to the next meeting for inclusion in a parcel.

A demonstration of “Facials” was given by Mrs Grey, and Mrs Lawn gave an interesting reading on Richard Tauben The roll call was a “Continued Story” which caused considerable amusement. An Institute game had been arranged by Mrs Gardner.

Competitions:— Best flower: Mrs Bennett 1, Mrs Grey 2. Best vegetable: Mrs Bennett 1. Plain scones with shortening: Mrs Merrie 1, Mrs Lawn 2, Mrs Gardner
